About

Join Our Women's Team For 2023/24

Our Women’s team, affectionately referred to as “the Chickets,” is more than just a cricket team – they’re lifelong friends.

The Senior Women’s Team, united for over 15 years, views Sunday games as more than cricket; it’s an opportunity to play alongside cherished friends week after week. As we step into the 2023/24 season, we’re excited and hoping to welcome some new faces.

The Sharks women’s team shines as one of Bayswater Park’s and the competition’s most accomplished teams. Playing with competitive spirit and respect for both the game and opponents, they always manage to infuse fun and laughter into every situation.

This season, our ambition is twofold: securing a championship and establishing a historic second team.

Our matches take place on Sundays, and our training coincides with senior men on Tuesday and Thursday nights (though missing training won’t be an issue for new players). Social gathering is a cornerstone, with the annual ‘end of season’ trip a much-anticipated highlight.

We extend a warm embrace to every new player, regardless of age or skill level, we invite you to join our ranks.

We understand that life’s commitments vary, and our flexible approach allows you to play as much or as little as suits your schedule – be it a few games, every other week, or a custom arrangement. Moreover, all new players enjoy FREE FEES for their inaugural season!

Come join us for a training session, and discover if Bayswater Park is your ideal club.

We’re led by a Club Legend

Though she shies away from the spotlight, her achievements are undeniable. A true team player in every sense, Sarah Smith, the captain of the women’s XI team, embodies excellence both as a player and a leader. Beyond her role as captain, Sarah also holds the esteemed position of Vice President within the club, garnering love and respect not only from her teammates but from the larger Shark Park family.

In the realm of accomplishments, Sarah Smith stands as a trailblazer, being the first player (male or female) to amass an impressive 7000 runs (now exceeding 8000 runs) for our esteemed club. Her batting average of 53.51 coupled with her skillful bowling adds to her prowess.

While Sarah often dominates presentation nights, her motivational speeches might raise an eyebrow or two, and her unique pre-game routines are a hallmark. With an unwavering grip on the first slip position, Sarah is a true teammate and leader.
